Description
Philippines Student Exchange Visa (9A) is a type of non-immigrant visa granted to foreign nationals who wish to enter the Philippines for temporary purposes such as short-term study (language courses, non-degree programs, or exchange programs). This visa allows temporary entry to the Philippines for up to 59 days, extendable at the Bureau of Immigration. It doesn’t grant formal permission to study, so participants of exchange programs, short-term courses, or non-degree studies must apply for a Special Study Permit (SSP). The SSP application process is usually handled by the host university or educational institution, not the student.

- Sufficient funds to cover the duration of stay in the Philippines.
- An official Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from a school, university, or institution in the Philippines is required.
- No record of Philippine visa rejection within the last six months.
- Passport must be valid for at least six months.
- Passport must contain at least two blank visa pages.
- Passport must not have been issued more than ten years ago.
- No history of overstaying in any country.
- No criminal record.
- No record of illegal employment under a previous visa.
- No history of deportation from any country.

Proof of financial (Philippines) *
Must show proof of sufficient funds for living expenses and return travel, such as a recent bank reference, bank statements or proof of funds. For visits under 30 days, at least USD 1,000 (≈ IDR 14,000,000) in savings is recommended.
Sponsor ID (original and English translation by sworn translator) *

Letter of Acceptance in education institution *
Letter of acceptance from the educational institution that explains the applicant is eligible to attend the program completed with information of program period.
Accomodation Proof *
Proof of having been hosted by a family or having secured accommodation in suitable facilities, within the educational establishment or elsewhere;
Consent Letter by Parents / Legal Guardian *
Attach a consent Letter by Parents / Legal Guardian in English (if applicant is visiting without parents).
Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG) (Optional) *
Children under 15 years old who are traveling to the Philippines without their parents need to secure a Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG) from the Bureau of Immigration, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
