Description
US Exchange Visitor (J1) visa is a visa that granted to individuals to participate in exchange visitor programs in the United States. This visa also applicable for LPDP and Fulbright programs. The J1 Visa provides countless opportunities for international candidates looking to travel and gain experience in the United States. The multifaceted programs enable foreign nationals to come to the U.S. to teach, study, conduct research, demonstrate special skills or receive on the job training for periods ranging from a few weeks to several years. There is a list of programs that can use this J1 visa, make sure your program is eligible before applying by checking the list through this here. The validity period of a U.S. visa is 5 years. However, in certain cases, it can range from 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, to 5 years. The duration of validity depends on the decision of the consular officer granting it. To take part in one of the J1 Visa programs, please locate and contact a designated sponsor. The designated sponsors supervise the application process and are the main point of contact throughout the exchange program process. Notes: - Appointment schedules depend on availability provided by the United States Embassy. For physical documents submission or document delivery, you can choose to pick up or collect at Everest Operations office, or choose for delivery add-on during checkout.

- 1. Must not have been rejected for a USA visa in the past six months.
- 2. Passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure date from the USA.
- 3. Ensure the passport contains at least two blank visa pages.
- 4. Passport must not have been issued more than ten years ago.
- 5. Evidence of employment and/or family ties may be sufficient to show the purpose of the trip and intent to return to the home country. If unable to cover all costs for the trip, evidence that another person will cover some or all costs must be provided.
- 7. No criminal record.
- 8. Sufficient funds must be available to support the stay.
- 9. No history of working illegally on a previous visa.
- 10. Must never have been deported from any country.

Required for
Passport *
Passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date.
Form DS-7002 *
Training/Internship Placement Plan, Form DS-7002 – if the student participating in Trainee and Intern categories also need the DS-7002 form For the student participating in Trainee and Intern categories, you need to provide with Training/Internship Placement Plan with DS-7002 form.
Sponsorship letter from institution/company *
Original sponsorship letter with letterhead and stamp from institution/company who sponsor you. You can download the template here
Certificate of witholding tax income (Optional) *
Provide us your Certificate of Witholding Tax Income (Surat Pemberitahuan Tahunan Pajak). Make sure the tax return is signed in the signature column.
Official academic transcript and certificate *
Provide a certified copy of your academic transcripts and educational certificate (Degree, Diploma etc.) or letter/statement from your Overseas Education Institution.
Proof of English Test Score *
You must provide evidence of minimum test scores in English, with the test completed within the past two years.
Certificate of employment *
Certificate of Current Employment : - Printed with letterhead - Wet-stamped - Wet-signed by the person in charge - Include details of address of company, job title, join date, contact person of responsible person - A statement in the employment proof should indicating the period during which the company grants the applicant permission to travel (e.g., from February 1st, 2025, to February 7th, 2025). - A statement should confirming that the applicant will return to Indonesia after the specified period. Deed of incorporation *
The company’s Deed of Incorporation, with the applicant’s name stated in the document.
Certificate of Asset (Optional) *
Provide your certificate of asset (such as house ownership)
Letter of Acceptance in education institution (Optional) *
Letter of acceptance from the educational institution that explains the applicant is eligible to attend the program completed with information of program period.
Proof of scholarship support (Optional) *
For scholarship awardee attached certificate/ document stating the amount and duration of the scholarship.
Previous passport (Optional) *
Provide a clear copy of your previous passport showing the bio-data page and any visa or entry stamps, if available.
Colored photo - 5 cm x 5 cm *
- New photos, no older than six months; never been used in any previous visas - Plain white photo background - No white shirt - Photo size 2x2 inches (5x5 cm) or 600x600 to 1200x1200 pixels in digital version; - Faces take up 70% of the photo - Eye glasses are not allowed to be worn for US Visa photos - No edit allowed
Form DS-2019 for J1 *
Provide with an approved original signed Form DS-2019 from your U.S. school or program.
National ID (KTP) *
Official government-issued identity card that serves as proof of identity and residence.
Family certificate *
Certificate that shows that you & your dependent are family from your country
Birth certificate *
Birth certificate showing full name, date, and place of birth.
SEVIS payment confirmation *
Attach your SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) payment confirmation
Bank statement of 6 months *
Provide with bank statement for the last 6 months. The amount of money in the Bank account must be enough to cover applicants tuition fee and living cost. Applicants can upload personal, spouse, or parents bank accounts. For spouse and parents bank account, please upload along with statement letter, stating that your tuition fee and living cost will be covered by third parties.
Bank reference *
Bank reference letter issued by the bank with a wet stamp and the bank’s contact number. The letter must state the current balance in your account.
Letter of Attorney for USA Visa *
Letter of Attorney to pick-up passport from USA Embassy, which is signed on top of a stamp duty. Download template here. We will require you to submit the hardcopy.
Sponsor Letter *
Sponsor Letter if funded by another party (English)
Invitation Letter (Optional) *
An invitation letter from the personal invitor/local company/foundation/institution with detailed purpose of your trip. Get the template here : Business invitation or Personal invitation
Marriage Certificate *
Official proof of your marital status. You can obtain it from your local civil registry office.
